We recently were able to get in touch with the current Champ Miesha Tate. Her fight with Ronda Rousey is less than a month away but we wanted to get to the root of her love for the sport so we asked her how she got started in MMA and this what the champ had to say, “I began wrestling my freshman year of high school and continued wrestling all four years on the boys team, then I began attending Central Washington University and I found MMA there being taught by Bryan Caraway & Tommy Truex. I really enjoyed it and as you learned more about the sport I decoded it was something I wanted to do.” Miesha is currently dating Bryan Caraway who has defended her on twitter more than once from the Rowdy fans. We next asked her if Ronda in any way has been able to get inside her head and she said, “I believe I was the first to actually refer to her as the “Chael Sonnen” of WMMA because she kinda is. Some of the comments she has made are very ignorant & I’m not a fan of hers by any means! I don’t appreciate many of the rude remarks and her overall immature attitude however I do think with the true animosity it will make for a spectacular fight! I’m channeling all of my dislike for her to March 3rd.” So we will see on March 3rd who remains or becomes the new Bantamweight Women’s Champion.
