Judges win the most fans at UFC on FX 4

UFC on FX 4 is over and honestly, we could have done without Greg Jackson. The man single handedly ruined the main event, along with Clay Guida of course. Guida decided to audition to become an Olympic sprinter instead of engaging with Gray. His head movement could have been featured on a Rush Hour movie. But let’s not forget about the other great fights. Brian Ebersole was the vet and escaped some pretty good submission attempts that would have finished other people.

Hioki is kicking himself for not taking the Aldo fight, while Ricardo Lamas is partying all night long. Ricardo survived the first round by escaping an omaplata attempt that switched to a standing omaplata then a crucifix. But the people who always get yelled at but never praised are the judges.

In both the Ebersole and Lamas fight, any other group of judges might have ripped off the fighters and declared Hioki and TJ the winners. But the judges tonight deserve to be on every single UFC card from now on.

Greg Jackson thought that he could set up a track inside the octagon and have his fighter Guida run it. For almost 22 minutes, Guida ran from Gray, who was getting more than pissed. Everyone in attendance, Jackson included, thought that this would end the same way Diaz/Condit ended. But no sir.

The judges came to the rescue and gave the decision to Maynard who won rounds 4 and 5 clearly, pushing Clay up against the cage and landing some nice knees along with a few uppercuts.

So this article is dedicated to the judges, who always tend to f*ck up, but tonight served out a nice warm glass of justice.
