When a UFC champion rules a division for an extended period of time, observers of the sport begin to speculate on how said champion would fare if they changed weight classes.
UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has entered that territory.
Jones (17-1) has been champion since March 2011 and has successfully defended his title four times while defeating five former UFC title-holders in a row. That type of dominance, paired with Jones’ colossal stature for the weight class, begs questions about a future move to the heavyweight division for the 25-year-old, who claims he is still growing into his body.
