UFC 155: Dos Santos vs Velasquez 2 – Best Bets

UFC-155-FOXSPORTS-16x91

Ok, so as we all know, huge card this weekend with UFC 155 wrapping up 2012 with a bang. It’s been a wild and entertaining year for sure, and I know we all can’t wait for 2013. But before we wrap it up and kiss it goodbye, I have two best bets to help you bring in the New Year.

Alan Belcher vs Yushin Okami

This is a rematch of a 2006 bout that saw Okami win a fairly straightforward decision. Both fighters have had solid UFC careers since, each amassing impressive UFC records.  I see this fight being very close, with neither having much knockout power, and I can foresee a lot of grappling. This fight will likely be a bit slower paced, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a few stalemates against the cage, or perhaps some with Okami on top. Ultimately, this fight goes the distance in my opinion.

My best bet for this fight is the distance prop, currently sitting at -150 to end in decision.

Jim Miller vs Joe Lauzon

A matchup of excellent BJJ artists promises to deliver a fine co-mainevent.  Both are extremely well versed on the floor, but are not afraid to thrown hands either. Miller most likely has a small advantage both in grappling and in striking, but don’t count out Lauzon. He is traditionally a fast starter, and he will look to finish from the opening bell. If Jim can weather an early storm with success, it could open up opportunities for him to get a finish on a tired Lauzon, who often gasses later into fights. Either way, there should be plenty of spots for both to work towards a finish, and I don’t expect this to hit the cards.

My best bet here is again the distance prop, currently at -140 to not reach decision.

Best of luck guys, sorry for the brevity, but it’s been a hectic end to the year. Starting next month, expect bigger and better things as 2013 is upon us!

  1. I’m Brazilian and To Be Honest, I Like American Crowd ! They are always given a good Energy to The Fighters. The American Crowd have too much reescpt for the Fighters no matters they came from. The Problem is the Tv Fans !!! The Internet Fans !!! A lot of Trolls in the WolrdWideWeb !!!
